WinDirex 1.01 Scott Wenzel and Galapagos Development =========================================================================== Requires: Windows 3.1 and VBRUN300.DLL (available on CompuServe and practically everywhere else you care to look). Remember, VBRUN300.DLL must be located in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This is a quick little utility intended just to blow files away at will. No big fancy thing, this, it just shows you a list of files, and you can click them and kill them. Real simple, but it's one heck of a lot easier than using File Manager. There's only one option in the program: a checkoff as to whether you want to confirm the actual deletion of a file. If you turn it off (it's on by default) you won't get any confirmation, except that the file will just vanish from the listing. Be advised, y'all: WinDirex 1.01 will not display the file, it will not rename files, it will not print files, it will not copy files, it will do nothing whatsoever to UNDELETE files. Its sole purpose in life is to allow you to pick, willy-nilly, through a directory and torch files. It does not have a help file. All help is supplied within the program itself. It also has an About... box which can get you more information on how and where to find other useful and amusing little things from Galapagos, including how to find our list of legendary sounds, wallpaper, and other random and somewhat deranged things. We're using this as a sort of test project. It is based on and named after a small DOS utility from about five or six years ago called DIREX. Over time, I may add multifile selection, directory-delete functions, file move and rename stuff, and in general re-invent the wheel. Have fun! Please mail any bug reports to CompuServe ID 74220,2635, attention Scott Wenzel. Don't send me any money, I don't need it yet. ============================================================================ Version History: Be serious. ============================================================================
